The purpose of overcoming this kind of deeds is normally driven by character's have to prove do it yourself worth, overcome evil, or perhaps fight their own mortality.

An important reason for a character to attempt a deed of great proportion should be to prove his worth to himself and others. An elder should be able to trust the thinking of the inheritor in order to fully entrust almost all assets within their care. In the event this trust is not yet established, the heir must prove him self in present situations. An example of this is God's entrusting gentleman as the caretaker of Eden, although man was unable to not eat with the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. In epic stories, the male who travels to far locations and defeats his enemies gains reputation as the strongest in the community, and also the prime candidate for the procreation in the society. He may be suitable to establish and defend a family group. Mental deeds can be seen while reflections of any person's intellect and prove to others that his genius will provide management for that culture. In the primitive sense, the intelligent member of the community could possibly lead others in obtaining food or perhaps finding a suited habitat, thus contributing to the favorable of the complete community. In many stories, the hero possesses the skills needed to surmount equally physical and mental obstacles. He might be viewed as the truly great general-king; an intelligent ruler that can in times of war lead his people in to battle with well-planned tactics and in times of serenity, rule his people with knowledge and proper rights. These heroes prove throughout the accomplishment of great deeds that they will be of great worth to their society.
